LEGACY AND VISION
The Monteko Winery was founded back in 1956
as a vision rooted in tradition and a passion for wine. This very vision has continued to evolve and upgrade over the years while at the same time, remaining true to its roots. Guided by a renewed energy and an unwavering commitment to excellence, the winery entered a new chapter in 2024 with a complete modernization of its facilities, state-of-the-art technology, and a meticulous approach to every stage of the winemaking process. Today, Monteko is a harmonious blend of tradition and contemporary winemaking expertise.
Nestled in the Kratovo region at an altitude of approximately 700 meters, the winery enjoys a truly unique setting. Its volcanic soil, cool mountain nights and long, sunny days create ideal conditions for the slow and even ripening of the grapes. This process contributes to the development of complex aromas, vibrant freshness and precise structure in each and every wine.
The mineral-rich volcanic soil is the substantial element defining the character of the Monteko’s wines. It encourages the vines to develop deep root systems, producing grapes with concentrated flavors, a distinctive identity, and subtle mineral notes. This natural expression of the land can be felt with every sip—like an elegant thread that connects each glass of wine to the extraordinary terroir from which it originates.
